STUFF! Short Update - Aug. 25, 2016

"Still Waiting" ©2006

Again, about my absence from social media for another month now...I'm still not well. Doctor visits,  medication changes, antibitotics, etc; life's not too fun lately. Frankly, it's very exhausting. However, that doesn't stop me from letting you know what's happening with my art, among other things.

I've been working on a TON of things "behind the scenes" - so to speak. Primarily, a good amount of reorganization (mainly reshoots & edits of about 2/3rds of my paintings) and other things I'd rather not divulge just yet. But I will be updating my Artist Statement due to a change in artistic direction. With some good luck, help from those I love (you know who you are! ;-)  and a lot of encouragement, I have things that (to me) are exciting and new on the way. I can't wait to share them with you... but unfortunately, I have to. Just for now.

Aside from those things, I've had a lot of time to ruminate on ideas for just about anything. Paintings, videos (possibly), art for art's sake, photography, my mind is overflowing with them. I do intend to share these in the near future, along with the other things I mentioned in the previous paragraph. If I do take long to do it, I apologize - more than likely it will have to do with illness and not stagnation or apathy.

However...
...if  Frida can do it, so can I!

So I'll leave you with this thought: there are some really awesome things coming up. They're just in that "pre-production" stage. The Big Cartel store has been temporarily halted for the summer, I will get it running again. There are some template problems to be dealt with and a few changes in products to be made. But, if you'd like a look at the clunky old version, you can see it here. Furthermore, if you'd like to contact me about owning one or more - message me here!

I will also update the Facebook page when more of the reshoots of my paintings are edited. For others I'll have to use the older, blurrier versions due to the state of the original paintings that made it impossible to photograph - until I can fix them. Those few may take some time to get to.

If you don't hear from me for any significant length of time, I'm working on new things that I love doing which I'll share with you later! I hope you'll enjoy! Or not, up to you. Art is subjective, as is personal taste. Until then, thank you for your patience!

In Absentia

NO! not this "in absentia", but it's an awesome record*.

Actually I'm talking about my own absence from a good chunk of the internet since late April. I'm just not well. Several issues going on at the same time, nothing life-threatening (yet! teehee), but all requiring the one common denominator that keeps me from completely functioning: antibiotics. I've had a lot of what the doctors call "brain fog" (which feels exactly as it sounds), and for good measure, too much sleep - which is still, somehow, never enough sleep. It's not fun. I've gone back to painting finally - just not at the rate I'm used to.

Actually, I'm posting this today because yesterday I DID have a completely different post related to one painting written up and ready to go. The unfortunate part was that I posted it by accident while it was still unedited. If you have a Blogger site, you may notice the buttons for "Save" and "Publish" are right next to each other. Meaning to press the Save button, I hit Publish instead. I tried to save it, but then deleted it. Unfortunately for me, it didn't save the draft I'd worked on, so, here I am. Oops.

So I'm sorry, I'll have to re-write the original again and post THAT one when I'm able to. Probably not this week. It was much more important to me today than what I've come to write over here now. But, as a teaser - here are a few bits of info and imagery for you:

Progress: the skull painting (work in progress, detail) -

And the update and imminent re-opening of the Provoking Drama Webstore

COMING SOOOOOOOOOOON!
AGAIN!

Thank you all for your patience, either with me or with my work, or my complaining. More to come!
